| Q. |
Can
I wash my clothes while on board the ship? |
| A. |
Self-Service Launderettes
Each ship has at least 2 self-service launderettes
located on the stateroom decks.
There are two or three washers and dryers, and one
iron and ironing board in each launderette. The cost
is $2.00 per washer load and $2.00 per dryer load.
Vending machines dispense small boxes of detergent
and water softener at $1.00 per box.
Note: Due to local environmental requirements, the
washing machines in the guest' launderette will be
closed in port, per each ports specific
requirements; the dryers and irons will be available
for guest use.
|
| Q. |
How
old do you have to be to travel? |
| A. |
Guests are required to be 21 years old (on
embarkation day) to travel in
their own stateroom. Guests under the age of
21 must be accompanied in the same stateroom by a
parent or guardian 25 or older.
Check with us for more details, as group policies
slightly differ. Legal
drinking age on this cruise is 21 years of age and
older.
Infants must be at least four (4) months old to
be eligible to travel, due to their vulnerable
health. This is a company policy which takes into
consideration the safety and comfort of the infant
as well as the other guests. Carnival has fully
researched the legality of the policy and it is not
discriminatory and does not violate any applicable
law. Carnival will not make exceptions and do not
allow for the signing of waivers or releases to make
an exception to the policy. |
| Q. |
What
are the new Passport Requirements? |
| A. |
AIR TRAVEL
INTO USA - ASK US FOR A TRAVEL VISA FROM ANYWHERE IN
THE WORLD -- WE CAN HELP YOU!
Effective January 23, 2007, passports will be
required for air travel to or from Canada, Mexico,
Central and South America, the Caribbean, The
Bahamas and Bermuda. This is an important new
requirement for our cruise guests traveling by air
to embark or debark in Vancouver for our Alaska or
Hawaii cruises. In addition, this new requirement
will also impact our Canadian guests that travel by
air to or from any of our U.S. embarkation ports.
Carnival strongly recommends that all guests travel
with a valid passport during their cruise. This will
enable guests to fly from the U.S. to meet their
ship at the first port should they miss their
scheduled embarkation; and allow guests that must
debark the ship before their cruise ends to fly back
to the U.S. without significant delays and
complications. Additionally, it will greatly help to
expedite their debark process. |
| Q. |
What amenities are in
my stateroom? |
| A. |
All staterooms have an amenity basket displayed
in the bathroom. The amenities are subject to change
and are only sample sizes. The basket may include
such things as: his/her razors; shampoo and
conditioner; body wash; Tylenol; deodorant; hard
candies. Supplies will be replenished by the room
steward, if quantities allow.
|
| Q. |
Will
my hair dryer, electric razor, or other appliances
work? |
| A. |
Hair dryers are supplied on
the ship. All other electric devices can operate on
U.S./Canadian style electric sockets. Occasionally
these items can be provided, but please come
prepared with adapters should you require them.
|
| Q. |
How are onboard
purchases handled? |
| A. |
Each guest or stateroom is
assigned an onboard account and the room key acts as
the credit card should you decide to purchase
extras. Passengers can have this set up to pay by
credit card or cash at the end of the cruise.
|
| Q. |
Is there an
Automatic Bank Machine onboard? |
| A. |
Guests are able to withdraw funds and make
balance inquiries on their checking and savings
accounts while the ship is in port or at sea. Please
note: The supply of money may be depleted prior to
the end of the cruise. Following is a list of major
credit cards and Networks accepted: Honor, Tyme,
Shazam, American Express, Magic Line, Oath, Mac,
Master Card (Cirrus for Non-U.S.), Visa (Plus), Nyce
Pulse, Yankee and Alert.

Medical Staffing and Equipment
In order to maintain a safe and comfortable
environment for our guests, our infirmaries meet or
exceed the standards established by the
International Council of Cruise Lines and the
American College of Emergency Physicians.
Our infirmaries are staffed by qualified physicians
and nurses who are committed to providing the
highest quality of shipboard medical care. Each ship
in the fleet carries one doctor and three nurses;
the Destiny, Triumph and Victory each carry two
doctors and four nurses.
Doctors on our ships are required to have a current
and valid medical license from the USA, one of its
territories, or Canada, Australia, New Zealand or
South Africa, or have full registration with the
British General Medical Counsel of the United
Kingdom or current full registration with the
British General Medical Council of the United
Kingdom, or current full registration with the
medical council of a member country of the European
Union. In addition, doctors must demonstrate
competent skill levels and hold current
certification in basic and advanced cardiac life
support and cardiac care, have experience in general
medicine or general practice including emergency or
critical care, and have one to three years clinical
experience and minor surgical skills, and board or
similar international certification is preferred.
The doctors on board are independent contractors.
Shipboard medical facilities are set up to provide
reasonable emergency medical care for guests and
crew. In cases of extreme emergency where more
comprehensive facilities are required, patients are
referred to shoreside facilities.
In addition to standard lifesaving equipment such as
defibrillators and external pacemakers, our
infirmaries carry some of the latest in medical
technology including thrombolytic therapy,
electrocardiograph machines, lab equipment, pulse
oxymeters and x-ray machines on many of our ships.
